Counter Strike 2.0 With Improved Graphics, Visuals Incoming? Here's What We Know So Far
AFTER the massive success of Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS GO), Valve Corporation, an American multinational game developer is reportedly working on the second part of Counter-Strike. Notably, the Counter Strike Global Offensive was launched in 2012 and has seen a huge number of active users, even today.
The Verge reported that Valve is developing Counter-Strike and has already invited some seasoned players to test the game, citing Richard Lewis, a Forbes journalist. The report also claims that Valve will transition to the Source 2 engine, which will significantly enhance the game's visuals, textures, and overall fluidity. Already using the Source 2 engine are games like Dota 2 and Half-Life.
Another interesting fact that hints that Counter Strike 2.0 is coming soon are the NVIDIA drivers. NVIDIA, in a new update, has added the ‘csgo2.exe’ and ‘cs2.exe’ names which means gamers around the globe would see a much-improved counter-strike shooting game.
The company is also anticipated to transition to the 128-tick servers that currently power popular shooting games like Valorant and PUBG. The tick rate of a server gives the uninitiated an idea of how quickly it can process information. Therefore, the higher the tick rate, the smoother the gameplay.
Furthermore, the reports claim that matchmaking will be improved, a problem that almost all users have complained about.
According to the reports, the company would not launch with a different title name but could introduce it with the name CS: GO Source 2, which means it will be merged into the existing game with the Source 2 engine. Interestingly, Valve did the same with the in-trend Dota 2.
